The Decision Neuroscience & Cognitive Engineering Lab (PI: Dongil Chung; http://dnce.unist.ac.kr) is recruiting graduate students in decision neuroscience and computational psychiatry with emphasis on functional neuroimaging and computational modeling. Ideal candidates will be interested in studying human value-based and/or social decision-making using neuroimaging, computational modeling, Bayesian modeling, and/or machine learning. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on several projects. Specific research topics and training opportunities can be individually tailored. The lab will offer internationally competitive training and research opportunities.

A preference will be given to candidates who have:
​

Majored in cognitive or computational neuroscience, engineering, psychology, experimental economics, or a related field
-
A strong interest in research about cognitive and decision neuroscience
-
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
-
Strong programming background (e.g., MATLAB, R, python)
-
Professional work ethics (e.g., diligence, honesty)

Preferred, but not necessary:

Previous research internship experiences
-
Facility with signal processing or computational/quantitative methods

Undergraduate Research Intern
The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of research in the lab, including: acquisition of behavioral and neural data, preparing consent forms and other research ethics related forms, assembling and administering neuropsychological assessments, screening and recruitment of participants, obtaining informed consent, scheduling participants for testing, tracking progress of the study and data collection, verifying data and entering pertinent information into database for statistical analysis, conducting statistical analysis, and assisting with manuscript preparation.
A preference will be given to candidates who have:

A strong interest in learning about cognitive and decision neuroscience

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Some programming background (e.g., MATLAB, R, python)
Preferred, but not necessary:

Prior experience running studies with human subjects is a plus
-
Prior experience with Amazon Mechanical Turk, fMRI, EEG, psychophysiology, signal processing, statistical analysis, and neuropsychological assessments would all be an added advantage
